Smarkets is a peer-to-peer exchange platform for betting and trading on sport and politics. We operate two main consumer products - the Smarkets exchange and SBK sportsbook app - in the UK, US, and other global markets.

We are currently looking for an ambitious recruiter to join the people team as we continue to upscale. The people team work as an embedded unit within the company dealing with all of the different hiring requests for our various teams. Whilst we are majoritively a tech organisation, we also have a diverse set of non-technical roles which need to be hired for. Besides directly recruiting talent, a major part of the role will be liaising with the leads to determine how realistic their hiring ambitions are and developing timeframes to fulfill them.

About You

  • You are comfortable having conversations about hiring and can accurately translate the trade-offs of different hiring strategies.
  • You have a background in recruitment and are able to talk about various roles across a modern tech startup with ease.
  • You enjoy collaborating with others.
  • You like to use data to inform the decision making process and use the data to re-evaluate the accuracy of your priors.
  • You are capable of picking up projects outside of your direct remit, finding the internal resources needed and delivering the project within a reasonable timeframe.
